Portland Harbour’s sheltered location allows it to be used both by expert and beginner surfers. Measuring 3 x 2 miles, this historical Harbour of national importance can be sailed in any wind direction.

All access points are within two minutes drive from The Aqua

Portland Harbour has three main access points to the water for sailors. The Weymouth Sailing centre to the North of the harbour has showers, a bar and snacks while offering day membership to visitors. Most prefer one of the two car parks on the main road to Portland though, just after crossing the roundabout and Ferry Bridge. To the left is the Ferrybridge boatyard car park where for a daily charge vehicles can be parked but this allows easy access to the water. To the right is the council-run Chesil Beach car park which means carrying all your kit across the road although there is the convenience of a cafe and toilets on site
