The Hotel Aqua on the Beautiful Island of Portland in Dorset

Graham ChuchardThe Hotel Aqua is located on the waterfront of Portland’s historic Castletown in Dorset.  Our 25 modern bedrooms are en-suite, with most enjoying sea-views.  Our range of room-types – singles, doubles, twins, triples or quad rooms – make us an ideal choice for business and leisure travellers alike.  While here, guests can take advantage of our café and bar, as well as complimentary wi-fi and parking.

Food and Drink

The Aqua Cafe is open daily from 7.30 am serving the best breakfast on the Island, as well as a great selection of meals, snacks and drinks.  Our outdoor seating is very popular in the summer time, where you can enjoy a cold drink and watch the fishermen and divers coming and going.

Our hospitality continues into the evening in the Aqua’s Wreck Bar.  Open from 5pm you can join us for drinks and delicious home-cooked food, including freshly caught fish (when available).  Food is served from 6pm.

Great for Groups

With 25 rooms and space to sleep 50+, the Hotel Aqua welcomes groups of all interests and sizes.  Our 16 double rooms and 3 triple rooms can all be specified for twin or double beds, giving you plenty of flexibility when allocating rooms.

Meanwhile, our Castle Suite provides space for meetings, meals and socialising.  And with a cafe and bar on site, it couldn’t be easier to make the most of your time together.

Sports Hotel

If you love the outdoors, you’ll love Portland.  The Hotel Aqua is equipped with a kit-wash and drying rooms, making it a popular hotel for water-sports enthusiasts, such as divers, sailors and windsurfers.  Staff at the Aqua have plenty of local knowledge about climbing, walking and cycling, but whatever your passion, we’re on-hand to help you make the most of your visit to Portland.

Location

The Hotel Aqua is situated between Portland Port and Portland Castle, and we are a short stroll to Chesil Beach, Portland Marina and the National Sailing Academy.  Access to the Merchants’ Railway and Portland’s network of paths is also a stones throw away where you you can take easy advantage of the many interesting and varied walks  on the island.  Regular bus services to Portland Bill, Southwell Business Park and Weymouth leave from nearby, and in the summer you can take a boat from the Hotel Aqua across the water where you can explore the pretty Regency town of Weymouth and enjoy sandy beaches and local hospitality.
